iDial Pro: This application is an extension to the popular dialing application iDial. iDial Pro builds upon iDial by adding the ability to view your contact images.

Ever wanted to quickly find a contact and use only one tap to dial their number? Wait no more. This is the only dialer in the App Store that makes it super easy and fast to find a contact in your address book and dial their number. iDial Pro allows you to find a contact using either the T-9 search method (using letters and numbers on a phone pad) or using the full QWERTY keyboard while also displaying that contact's image.

In the keypad view, you can search for a contact named 'Joe' simply by dialing 563. The keypad view allows you to search in the following fields: first name, last name, phone number, and organization.

In the keyboard view, you can search for a contact using the full QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard view allows you to search in the following fields: first name, last name, phone number, organization and notes.

Why iDial Pro?

- No contact sync required. Most dialers sync on start-up and take up to 10 seconds to load. With iDial Pro, you can start dialing immediately.

- View contact images in search results and recent call list

- A conventional phone keypad that allows you to dial contacts or other numbers easily.

- A QWERTY keyboard search view that allows you to search contacts easily.

- Easy one tap dial will connect you to a contact in a second.

- Keep track of your recent calls and have the ability to view your contact search results sorted by most recent calls.

- Find contacts by first name, last name, organization, phone number or notes.

- View recently dialed phone calls.

- Contact Image display

- Keypad tones (with option to turn them on/off)

- Edit and view your contacts in your address book in the application.

- Easily configure the application to filter phone numbers shown in search results by phone type (eg. Work only, Mobile only, etc.).

- High performance.

* FAQ *

Two of the top requests are voicemail and displaying incoming or missed calls. These features are not currently permitted by Apple's SDK, and therefore cannot be added to iDial Pro.

Good, but slow

I've been looking for an app that searches my address book better than the bare bones Apple search. iDial fills that need and does an excellent job of finding contacts when only partial names of numbers are entered. My only complaint is that it is very, very slow in initial loading.

Decent application, but really slow

I'm removing this from my phone. Since this is not a great review, I am making sure I am accurate in this. It takes an average of 16 seconds to launch the program. That is a long time to wait. It seems that it's best function that the iphone program lacks is the ability to use the keypad to find contacts in the same way you can with a Blackberry. But, after waiting 16 seconds to open, it defaults to the recent calls list, and so you have to then go to the keypad. Once you are there it's pretty good, except that you have to backspace to clear miskeys, which is to be expected. But, the backspace key is right above the Setting button, so it's pretty easy to suddenly be in settings. A decent start, but the wait is just too long.

Needs to remember last tab. Needs favourites.
